Tends machine that shapes and smooths outside (lead-in) corner
of bar jewels: Blocks jewels with melted shellac on circular
metal blcok. Places block in spindle of machine and positions
work against brush. Turns on power and allows machine to run
until, from experience and by touching block to estimate its
temperature (heated by friction), worker konws jewels are shaped
and smoothed. Inspects jewels under loupe to determine if corner
is properly finished.
